Point and Figure charts offer a different perspective on the markets. (see Point and Figure Primer)
Point and Figure charting is essentially a charting and trading system in one package with (like Elliott Wave) clearly cataloged and defined price patterns. Additionally, entry, add to, and exits have been cataloged and tested as well.
The primary drawback is the nature of the signals which would be "buying strength" and "selling weakness". Here is where timing moves with Elliott can have such a tremendous advantage. Two uniquely different views must agree on a price territory entry level to be valid. Like charts, P&F can be assembled using different box sizes and reversals for different levels of granularity, but with different profit targets and, usually, increased "whipsaw"..... but a trade may be executed closer to the "point of no return". So it is up to the trader which trade-off (no pun intended) best suits their trading profile.
The charts below are used for short to medium position trades - greater than a day, but definitely not a "macro" level. These are not day trader charts, but do show levels where support or resistance may be found.
